Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting exciting over a young prospect after the Daily Mail revealed they are finalising a deal for Portuguese teenager Paulo Alves.
The 17-year-old plays for AD Sanjoanense but he is supposedly on the verge of a move to Anfield.
Alves has caught the eye of the officials at Liverpool after he took part in a trial earlier this season.
The youngster will hope to get game time in the youth ranks at Merseyside as he has made four starts and eight substitute appearances after breaking into Sanjoanense’s first-team this season.
Punters hope the officials at the club have other targets in mind because they will need more than just a promising talent to turn things around at Anfield.
Especially as Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out and will not play again for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery in America.
