talkSPORT report that Everton and Liverpool are both tracking Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia ahead of a possible surprise summer move.
Mbia is currently on-loan with La Liga side Sevilla after being part of the relegated Hoops outfit last season.
It was thought that he could make his deal permanent with the La Liga high-flyers at the end of the campaign but a chance to stay in England could be appealing.
Liverpool, who have already qualified for next season’s Champions League, are believed to have made contact with the 27-year-old.
The Reds’ managing director Ian Ayre recently revealed that manager Brendan Rodgers will have vast transfer funds at his disposal as the Merseysiders prepare to return to the top level of European football.
Meanwhile, neighbours Everton are still in the hunt for a top-four place and are also believed to be on the trail of the Cameroon international.
Both Premier League sides will also face competition from Inter Milan, although the San Siro outfit are expected to compete in the Europa League next year.
Can you see the Hoops midfielder heading back to the Premier League over the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
