It has been claimed by the Daily Mail that Brendan Rodgers is looking to add to the SAS – with a Championship player.
As one of our punters notes, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have hardly been doing badly this season, being behind most of the victories the high flying Reds have picked up.
Since the injury to Sturridge however, it seems that Rodgers is looking for reliable back up and has found it in the form of Burnley hitman Danny Ings.
A one time target of Manchester United, the former Bournemouth forward has been setting the Championship alight this season. The England Under-21 international has managed to net 15 goals in 21 games and been simply sensational for the Turf Moor outfit.
Of course, the pursuit of the forward has led to a couple of our punters questioning the future of Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan forward has long been linked with a move away from the Reds and given they are looking to bring in another forward this winter, those questions do not look like going away any time soon.
Rodgers meanwhile has stated that the club will not spend money this January unless it is absolutely necessary and is not looking to panic buy.
As our landlord notes, bringing in a relatively unproven Championship forward sounds a little bit like he is doing just that!
Will Ings become a Red or is this simply media hype? Let us know your thoughts below.
