Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing their goalkeeper troubles as they await tonight’s huge Europa League clash with Manchester United- and one rumour is going down nicer than an ice cold pint!
The Reds seem keen to find a quality replacement for struggling first-choice stopper Simon Mignolet and Bild have thrown a new name in the ring, stating Cologne’s Timo Horn is top of the Reds wish-list.
22-year-old Horn has excelled with the German minnows and would likely jump at the chance for an opportunity with one of the bigger sides in Europe- although Liverpool may find it difficult to fend off the competition for the youngster’s services.
The same report says Manchester United and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the player, with the Red Devils concerned about losing David De Gea and the Gunners first-team spot further down the line up for debate with neither David Ospina or Wojciech Szczesny seeming capable to take the reigns from Petr Cech.
However, our landlord doesn’t feel either of those sides will move for the player this summer and he’s urged Liverpool to get a deal over the line swiftly.
Liverpool fans, how does Horn compare to the other names you’ve been linked with? Let us know in the comments below!
