Ahead of tomorrow’s ‘Super Sunday’ clash against Manchester United here in the Football Transfer Tavern we have been looking for any weaknesses in the Liverpool setup.
While the Reds are in sensational form going forward, we reckon that defence is the position where they should be looking to strengthen in the summer with left back especially a concern.
Now Metro indicate that the Reds are showing interest in Barcelona left back Adriano Correia who could be available at the end of the season.
Brendan Rodgers started the season with former Newcastle United man Jose Enrique but his performances were inconsistent with on loan French defender Aly Cissokho arriving from Valencia to take his place in January. However he has also disappointed and Rodgers is believed to have made it his transfer priority.
If Spanish reports are to be believed Adriano is the man Rodgers is considering with a £6 million switch being lined up for the 29-year-old.
Adriano has recently fallen behind Jordi Alba in the pecking order and has even raised concerns over his lack of regular action under manager Gerardo Martino.
Can you really see the Barca man heading to Anfield in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
