ESPN note that Liverpool will face competition from West Bromwich Albion in order to land Chelsea outcast Victor Moses on loan this summer.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been considering a move for the Nigerian international as the transfer window draws closer to its conclusion and is known to be willing to pay around £2 million to take the former Wigan Athletic winger for the season.
Allowing Moses to leave is not a problem for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho. The returning manager is not a fan of the player and given the midfield riches at his disposal this season, it is no miss to allow the young player to leave and get some first team football.
The issue for Rodgers is to beat off other interest, with Baggies boss Steve Clarke becoming the latest manager to show some interest in taking the player for the season.
He was asked about the possibility and noted that: “Moses is available to come out and he’s a player we would be interested in.
“But I can’t say I’m confident in landing him or any player at the moment.
“Time is short. I’m getting nervous and I’m concerned we’ve left it too late – that we won’t get the players in to improve the squad. We do need some help. Scott (Sinclair) coming in was great as he gave the place a lift.”
Clarke enjoyed great success in taking a Chelsea player on loan last term in the form of Romelu Lukaku and if he can land Moses, he will be hoping he has a similar effect on the West Midlands side.
