The Football Transfer Tavern has been relatively quiet this evening but the latest reports from talkSPORT have interested Liverpool supporters in the bar.
The publication indicates that Liverpool may have to fend off competition from AC Milan for Udinese forward Luis Muriel in the summer.
According to the speculation the Milan club will move for Muriel if former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli leaves in the summer.
The Italian international has come under fierce criticism for his poor performances for Clarence Seedorf’s side in recent weeks and that could see him looking for a move away, possibly back to the Premier League.
If Balotelli decides to cut his time in Milan short, the Serie A side could increase their efforts to sign Muriel, who has been impressive form for Udinese.
The 22-year-old has reportedly decided to leave his current club in the summer and with Champions League football likely to be back on the table at Anfield, a move to Liverpool may not be out of the question.
Muriel would offer the Reds further versatility in attack that with the ability to play on either wing, as a number 10 or as a lone striker and he could be available for around £15 million.
