According to Sky Sports, Aaron Ramsey is set to leave Arsenal next summer when his contract expires with the Emirates hierarchy having told the 27-year-old he will not be offered a new deal.
Available on a free transfer, Ramsey will almost certainly have a host suitors come the end of the season with Transfer Tavern having come across a bunch of Liverpool supporters on Twitter hoping that their club are one of them.
With the recent arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho, the Reds are hardly lacking in midfield. On top the two new additions, manager Jurgen Klopp also has Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana to call upon, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another great option, too, for the German once he returns from injury.
That being said, with the goal-scoring potential Ramsey possesses and with no transfer fee being involved, it is easy to understand the calls from fans for Liverpool to bring him in.
Away from Liverpool’s attacking options, there are not too many goals elsewhere in the team, something which Ramsey could help improve.
The Wales international has a knack for arriving in the box at exactly the right time, resulting in him taking up promising goal-scoring positions. With that in mind, Ramsey probably should be hitting the back of the net on more occasions.
The potential, though, is certainly there and most would expect a coach like Klopp to unlock it.
Ultimately, especially considering he would cost nothing, Liverpool would be silly not to consider adding Ramsey to their ranks.
