Liverpool: Fans disagree after Danny Murphy’s Rashford and James suggestion

Jurgen Klopp has put together an outstanding squad at Anfield, one which won the Champions League last season and currently sits top of the Premier League.

The Reds have got a bit of everything in their squad. They have one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Alisson, a top centre-back in Virgil van Dijk and in Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah one of the most frightening forward lines in world football.

However, that doesn’t mean that there are not areas they could improve, and former midfielder Danny Murphy has given his thoughts on which current Manchester United players Klopp would take at Liverpool.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the 42-year-old pundit said: “I think Jurgen Klopp would take Marcus Rashford and Daniel James all day long. They would fit in with his philosophy very well.”

You can certainly see his point. Both are young, quick and athletic players who could well fit into Klopp’s high-pressing and energetic Liverpool outfit, traits highlighted by Sky Sports‘ tactics writer Adam Bate.

However, Murphy’s comments haven’t gone down too well amongst the Reds fanbase, with many fans desperate not to see the duo rock up at Anfield.
