Many Liverpool fans have been discussing an update involving Harry Wilson that recently emerged on social media.
Liverpool-oriented journalist Paul Gorst was recently talking to Wales Online about the future of Wilson. The journalist said that Wilson knew the fact that his chances of breaking into the Liverpool first-team would be ‘virtually nil’ before the FA Cup comes around. The journalist feels that the Welshman’s ship at the Anfield-based side might have sailed.
Is Harry Wilson's time up at Liverpool?
He also stated that Wilson did feature for the Reds in the League Cup against Arsenal when Xherdan Shaqiri looked set to depart. The Switzerland man’s decision to stay at Anfield though, meant that Wilson fell down in the club’s pecking order and became an outcast under Jurgen Klopp.
The journalist also said that Wilson could look for a Premier League move next summer if Cardiff do not get promoted. The Reds would ask for a fee in the region £15m-£20m and it is uncertain whether the Bluebirds would be able to afford that fee or not.
The 23-year-old was loaned out to Cardiff City in the summer transfer window and his temporary stint at the Welsh club runs out at the end of the campaign (as per Transfermarkt). In the Championship this season, Wilson has contributed to five goals in 12 appearances.
This update about the midfielder was relayed on Twitter by Anfield Edition recently. Many Liverpool fans began discussing the 23-year-old’s situation.
