Liverpool fans hijack club post to demand squad numbers

The upcoming season is just around the corner for Liverpool. The club has got their new players in and Jurgen Klopp looks ready to challenge Pep Guardiola at the top of the Premier League. However, the one thing yet to be announced is the squad numbers for the upcoming season, which the supporters have been begging for on Twitter.

Klopp’s Liverpool look like one of the best teams in the world right now. The German gaffer seems to have got his tactics bang on and will be looking to put that to the test on Sunday when they host West Ham at Anfield in their Premier League opener. West Ham and Liverpool are widely believed to have done the best business of all 20 clubs and many supporters will be eager to see how both sides set up on Merseyside.

However, it’s hard to name an eleven when some of your players haven’t been given official squad numbers and that’s the case with Liverpool at the moment. Whilst it seems a given that Naby Keita will be wearing the number 8 jersey and Xherdan Shaqiri will wear 23, Fabinho and Alisson Becker are yet to have official numbers. The club could be waiting for the departure of Loris Karius before giving Alisson a number but it’s looking likely he’ll be wearing the number 13 this season.

The fans are keen to see the squad numbers announced soon and will be buzzing when they can finally see who’s got what jersey so they can buy their new kit.
