Liverpool: Fans laud Trent Alexander-Arnold after Aston Villa performance

Liverpool secured a dramatic 2-1 victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday (via BBC Sport).
The Reds were 1-0 down after Trezeguet had fired the Villans in front, and it looked as though a shock was on the cards.
However, with 87 minutes on the clock, Andy Robertson netted the leveller for Jurgen Klopp’s side, before Sadio Mane grabbed a late winner in stoppage time to ensure that they remain six points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table (BBC Sport).
Naturally, both Robertson and Mane grabbed the headlines because of their goals, but the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold was extremely impressive too.
Indeed it was the 21-year-old’s corner which led to Mane’s winning goal, but as well as that he also played three key passes, completed two successful dribbles, made three tackles, three interceptions and two clearances in an action-packed display. All of that earned him a WhoScored match rating of 8.25, the highest of anyone on the pitch.
His performance didn’t go unnoticed by the Liverpool supporters, many of whom were quick to praise him on social media after the game. Here is what some had to say about Alexander-Arnold’s display…
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a world class footballer. Both of our fullbacks are, but the way he passed the ball today, the mazey runs he was making picking up the ball, then picking another pass.. the kid has dynamite in his legs, and LFC beating in his heart!!

Trent Alexander-Arnold though, he’s been stepping up whenever we’ve needed him this season. He’s only 21, what a player. #LFC

What a massive second half from TAA of #LFC @trentaa98 you are the Scouse Heart of this first team, an inspiration for other talented locals and the Boys from the game mid week to keep fighting for that top spot 👍👏💪!!!

Even without Robbo’s goal him and TAA provided the real quality and kept the pressure on today. Huge win down to them two beauties.
