Many Liverpool fans have written off a prediction made by Paul Merson after claiming that they are not bothered by it.
Will Liverpool win the Premier League title this season?
The Sky Sports pundit has said there is “no chance” of Liverpool going unbeaten over the whole season, to which many Liverpool fans responded by saying they do not care as long as they win the title.
Within his weekly column, Paul Merson wrote: “Liverpool won’t go unbeaten, not a chance. What Arsenal did all those years ago, that’s some going. What Liverpool are doing, winning all these games on the trot, though, is ridiculous.”
Liverpool fans were quick to respond to the article tweeted out by the Sky Sports Premier League account, saying that they never claimed they would go the season unbeaten and that it doesn’t matter if they don’t, as long as they pick up their first league win in 30 years.
Indeed, the Reds have gotten off to an absolute flyer and find themselves eight points clear after just eight games. With City already slipping up to Wolves and Norwich, many fans might be starting to believe it is their year.
Here are some of the responses below from Liverpool fans to Paul Merson’s words…
Fun fact- about 99% of Liverpool fans know we won’t go invincible. It’s rival fans and pundits who build it up more than we do

Has any @LFC fan even talked about this? I certainly haven’t!

Who’s said we can? Leagues too competitive these days to never lose a match

Couldn't care one bit about an invincible season. Just really hope it ends with us being premier league champions. Anything else is a bonus
