This summer marks four years since Adam Lallana joined Anfield and whilst he’s spent a lot of time in the treatment room, there’s no doubting his ability when he’s fit. The 2017/18 season was a right off for the former Southampton man as he managed only 16 appearances and three starts throughout the entire campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Given that we now have 2 excellent options in Shaqiri/Jones, would it be best to move along Lallana now?
He's 30 and on high-wages that could be used towards a new 10. #LFC

Despite Lallana’s terrible injury luck last season, the fans are all desperate to see the midfielder come good again this season. With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane making runs and creating space ahead of him, Lallana would easily be able to thrive at Anfield in his favoured number ten role. The 30-year-old is one of a number of players who could be offloaded in the coming days, although the fans will be urging the club to keep him.
The Premier League season is a long, gruelling affair in itself, but for clubs like Liverpool who also have European football and domestic cups that they’re expected to go far in, the amount of games they have to play really tots up. Last season Liverpool played 56 games across the whole season and if Lallana is only going to be available for three starts then paying him his wages seems like a waste of time. Only time will tell over whether the midfielder stays at Liverpool, but the fans will be desperate to see him stay.

I don’t think so, Lallana is an incredible player when he’s fit

Sell a international and rely on a 17 year old who has done alright in a few pre-season games or a new signing? Jesus..

Absolutely not. He will play a lot this year if fit

No way… this season is long & hard. Bigger the squad the better.

Who cares about his wages. I’m not paying them. Lallana is a great option to have. He always gives 100%, can take players on, can pick a pass, breaks up play & is great at pressing the ball. No way sell.

Nope squad is already short, and Jones has no experience
— Si Ward (@SiWard2505) August 6, 2018
Absolutely not. We need squad depth and Jones has not even made his competitive debut yet.

The feeling amongst the Liverpool fans is to keep Lallana at the club for as long as possible as they all rate the 30-year-old attacking midfielder and will be hoping he can make an impact on the first-team squad this season.
