Liverpool failed to increase their lead at the top of the Premier League table after they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham at the London Stadium on Monday.
The Reds went into the game without several players including right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold due to injury, leaving manager Jurgen Klopp in quite the predicament.
To make things worse for the German, Nathaniel Clyne, the club’s only other natural right-back, joined Bournemouth last month on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old would have been a suitable option to come into the team following Alexander-Arnold’s injury, making the decision to send him out on loan in the midst of a title race a bizarre one to some.
However, with James Milner and Fabinho also capable of playing at right-back, Clyne’s exit does feel like it is being overplayed in some parts of the media.
You can have a look at what Liverpool supporters have had to say on the matter below…

He’s actually right. When you’re up against a club who have spent over 100m on defenders you need as many options as possible. When your only back up to RB is a central Midfielder or a centre half you don’t let your backup RB go! Especially one as reliable as this.
