Liverpool fans on Twitter buzzing with Fabinho’s debut

Yesterday against Huddersfield, Jurgen Klopp threw Fabinho in for his Premier League debut. The Brazilian midfielder came off the bench for the last 20 minutes, replacing Adam Lallana to try and see out the game at The John Smith’s Stadium.

Fabinho has been a strange player at Anfield. The Reds signed the Brazilian for a large sum of money back in May but so far Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to use him. Jordan Henderson and James Milner have been putting in the minutes in midfield and because of that Fabinho has had to wait, although it looks like Klopp has got his new summer signing ready and we could be seeing a lot more of Fabinho now.

The 24-year-old versatile defensive midfielder can be deployed as a right-back and in midfield and has the potential to be the next long-term midfield anchor at Anfield. Klopp signing the Brazilian looks like a stroke of genius, even if he has taken a while to break into the team. He made his debut for the club in the dying minutes against PSG and now he’s made his Premier League debut it looks like he’ll be getting loads more minutes.

The Reds will be keen to see more from Fabinho in the coming weeks and will hope he can usurp Henderson.
