The Champions League last 16 is now settled. The Round of 16 ties will be drawn on Monday and will be played between January and March next year, and after Liverpool scraped through at the expense of Napoli, they’re desperate to be drawn against Real Madrid. Los Blancos beat the Reds in last season’s final, and the fans are desperate to settle the score by dumping them out this time around.

Liverpool fans have been given an easy to read guide on the tie ahead of Monday on their club website, and it’s detailed the teams that they can face in the next round. Real Madrid are obviously one of them as the fans beg for that tie. Meanwhile, they can also be drawn against Juventus, Barcelona, Porto, Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, and whilst they’ll back themselves against anyone, there’s only one side they want.
The way in which they lost the 2018 Champions League final back in May is still one that stings badly for the supporters. Loris Karius’ blunders and Sergio Ramos’ foul play still makes for extremely painful viewing, and the best remedy for the supporters would be to dump the Madrid giants out of the tournament in the first knockout stage, ending their three-year run as undefeated champions in the competition.
