A lot of Liverpool fans feel like their side has been left in the lurch defensively over the last few weeks. With Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold injured and Nathaniel Clyne having been shipped out on loan, Jurgen Klopp’s side is thin on the ground. However, Alexander-Arnold is now nearing a return, and the Reds are ecstatic.

At the age of just 20-years-old, Trent Alexander-Arnold is living the dream. The defender is an icon at Anfield already and his ability to add end product going forward as well as staying rock solid at the back is something that a lot of teams in the Premier League would kill for in a right-back. At the moment, though, the Kopites are having to get by without him.
The defender suffered an injury during their 1-0 away win at Brighton, yet he continued to play and managed the full 90 minutes at the Amex Stadium. The decision to leave him in likely did more harm than good, especially seeing as it was just a few weeks after he’d recovered from a foot injury that saw him miss two games. That’s in the past now, though, and as long as he’s back for the Bayern clashes and Manchester United at home the fans won’t be too bothered at all.

The Reds cannot wait to have their marauding right-back in the side again and will hope he can make a timely return ahead of the return of the Champions League.
