Liverpool fans on Twitter have been left baffled as The Sun has claimed that Jurgen Klopp is looking at bringing in James Tarkowski this month. The Burnley man has had a £50 million price tag slapped on his head to deter any offers coming in for him, but the Reds would supposedly also be open to loaning the twice-capped England man.

If Burnley do manage to stay up this season then they will certainly have Tarkowski to thank. The 26-year-old defender is not only one of their best players at the back, but he's also the Claret's joint 2nd top goalscorer with three strikes in his 18 Premier League games, putting him level with Chris Wood and Sam Vokes, and only one behind top scorer Ashley Barnes.

A lot of Liverpool fans have been laughing this one off, though, as they don't believe they should be looking for a player like Tarkowski. None of the Reds are slating the Turf Moor favourite, but as they sit with one fit centre-back they may need to look to a player like him, especially as they have some tough games coming up in the next few months against Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Everton, and won't want to go into those with just one available senior central defender.

The Reds are desperate to avoid bringing in Tarkowski, and back themselves to do just fine until the likes of Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip are all back.
