Liverpool fans on Twitter have loved seeing Fowler take up first managerial role

Robbie Fowler has now become yet another Liverpool hero who the fans will be following very closely as he enters the world of management. Steven Gerrard got the Rangers gig last summer and they’ve been following him ever since. Now, though, Robbie Fowler is in the dugout at A-League club Brisbane Roar for his first job as a gaffer.

A lot of Reds have become Brisbane Roar fans overnight as this one has been confirmed, and it will be interesting to see how the former England international finds life in the managerial hot-seat, albeit over in Australia. It will be interesting to see if he can make the jump to life in Europe assuming he does find success in Australia, but for now, it’s about getting off to a flier in the A-League.

Plenty of former players are making their way into management from Fowler’s generation, but he’s the first to be making the step into management in Australia. The likes of Sol Campbell and Paul Scholes have tried it in League Two and with Gerrard in Scotland, it seems like a strange step for Fowler to be going for it halfway across the world, but the Reds are wishing him well regardless.

You can read the Reds’ messages for Fowler after his Brisbane Roar appointment here:

The Kopites will be looking forward to checking in on Brisbane Roar in the A-League and will hope that their former striker can do a good job and make a name for himself as a manager.
