Yesterday was a hectic day for football fans everywhere. The transfer window closed at 5 pm but even that wasn’t enough for some clubs and ten deal sheets were put through, including one that eventually saw Danny Ings sign for Southampton on loan.
Everybody wishes Danny all the best for his future career. https://t.co/43QvTIhgEQ

Ings has been desperately unlucky in his time at Liverpool. The striker joined the club in the summer window back in 2015 and since then he’s got to know the Liverpool treatment room better than anyone. The 26-year-old started his career at Anfield so well, scoring twice in his first five appearances in the Premier League, including the opener in his first ever Merseyside derby.
However, it simply wasn’t to be for the striker and that game against Everton would turn out to be his last for over six months as he sustained a knee ligament injury that kept him out until May. Since then, the former Burnley man has gone on to suffer more horrendous setbacks and it looks like this move to Southampton will benefit the striker as he’ll be hoping to get a run of games going on the Southcoast to try and rediscover his goalscoring form.
You can read the Liverpool fans’ thoughts on Ings here:
Best of luck Danny. Sorry it didn’t work out at Liverpool, always wanted you to do well with us. Top class professional and I hope you have a full season and score plenty of goals for Southampton. Just not against us though Will always be a fan of yours!! #YNWA
