Simon Mignolet may not be the best goalkeeper in the world but he’s a great man to have behind the scene at Anfield. The Belgian has been barely spoken about this season, down to the Reds’ early exit from both cup competitions, but James Milner has been on the Liverpool website celebrating the shot-stopper for his incredible attitude around the club.

Milner has claimed that Mignolet is the best professional that he has ever seen, and Milner has played with a lot of players down the years. The 33-year-old also says that every single day in training Mignolet is pushing himself and Alisson Becker to be better, learning from the Brazilian shot-stopper as he goes. It will be hard for the Belgian, knowing his chances are slim, but he’s taken it like a champion.
The next step for Mignolet in his career surely won’t be to stick around at Anfield as a number two goalkeeper, and it will be no shock to see him leave sooner or later, but for now the Belgian is doing a great job of getting his head down and working. The campaign so far has seen him feature for just 180 minutes, losing two games and conceding f0ur times as they bowed out of the League and FA Cup to Chelsea and Wolves respectively, but even that hasn’t affected Mignolet’s attitude.
You can read the Reds’ thoughts on Mignolet here:
What a professional he has been although he has been stuck to dmthe bench but he continues to support the team no matter what he deserves game time and will probably get it somewhere else

A dedicated professional. No doubt about it.

He's not as bad a keeper as some make out. He's had to play behind some shocking defences.
I don't think he'll stay if he gets a good offer in the summer

I love Simon Mignolet, he's hard working and a total gentleman.. He would take his chance with both hands and deserves a standing ovation for all he has done and is still doing for the club…

The Kopites can have no complaints about Mignolet and will hope the Belgian is happy to stick around and continue to be their cup ‘keeper given his attitude and professionalism.
