The move that Shaqiri made from Stoke to Liverpool is looking like being a really successful one. The Swiss winger had been accused of being lazy and inconsistent in his Stoke City days and Jurgen Klopp will be keen to knock that out of him as soon as he can. But the fact that he’s at Anfield despite the interest from Old Trafford over the summer has made the Reds appreciate him even more.
On Shaqiri’s first appearance in a Liverpool shirt, he scored a sublime overhead kick against Manchester United in the International Champions Cup and that will have been a massive kick in the teeth for Jose Mourinho. Alongside other new boys Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Naby Keita, Shaqiri will be confident of achieving something special at Anfield and winning the Premier League isn’t an unrealistic target.

Smartly so, Mourinho is toxic and this season his ultimate downfall at some point will prove his toxicity
