It’s no surprise to see that Loris Karius has been getting a lot of abuse on social media. The German cost Liverpool their chance to win Champions League number six back in May when his blunders cost the Reds the game, however, goalkeeping legend, Iker Casillas thinks the abuse has gone on far too long and he even posted a video of all of his mistakes to prove that goalkeepers are only human.

The compilation of Casillas clangers has currently been viewed well over 2.3 million times and his show of solidarity is possibly the most memorable act of goalkeepers union ever seen. Most football fans already had tonnes of respect for the Spaniard but for the Kopites among us that will have doubled as the 37-year-old has shown his class on a human level as well as one a footballing one.
Some of the more optimistic Reds have even claimed that Casillas would be a superb option for them as a second choice ‘keeper and as a goalkeeping coach. The Reds new goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, and Karius are both just 25-years-old and would still be able to learn a lot from Casillas, who has some serious pedigree given the fact he’s captained his club side to the Champions League and his national team to the World Cup and the Euros.
You can see what the Liverpool fans are saying about classy Casillas here:
Karius made mistakes. Tell me one person in any profession who hasn’t?? YNWA is the anthem. Well a few on twitter seem to think it’s ok for him to walk alone. Fans enjoy the good times but won’t help him through the bad. Cadillas a legend even in retirement

We really could do with more people like that…… who does not need that type of encouragement at sometime?

Iker casillas shud be glad he played in a strong team n not in the premier league. Mistakes happen we all know that but losing ur composure often is the difference between ok n good. Not being great at something does not mean u r a bad person.

As you can see, the respect that the Liverpool fans have for Casillas is huge, especially after seeing his classy gesture for their German shot-stopper.
