Yesterday saw football fans far and wide tune in to see the Premier League's biggest game of the weekend at Wembley, as Tottenham hosted Manchester United in their temporary home. The on-looking Liverpool fans would have been rooting, rarely, for United to get one over Spurs, and thanks to a David De Gea masterclass, they did just that.

Liverpool fans don't often want to see United win, but as Tottenham have somehow found themselves in what has been touted as a three-way title race with the Reds and Manchester City, it looks like the Merseysider's fiercest rivals have done them a massive favour by beating the Lilywhites. Liverpool are now nine points clear of Tottenham, and if Wolves can overcome City later it'll be the perfect weekend.

Jurgen Klopp will know the significance of De Gea's master class at Wembley. The German won't admit it, but the way that the Spanish stopper managed to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side inflict Spurs with their sixth Premier League defeat of the season was huge. Liverpool fans everywhere have been coming together to rave over the man who made it happen, and whilst some of them may prefer their own shot-stopper in Alisson Becker, they couldn't help but marvel at De Gea.

You can read the Reds' verdict on De Gea here:

The Reds would love to have De Gea at Anfield, even if they won't admit it, and they've been rightly praising the Spaniard for his display against Tottenham.
