Fabinho has been a strange case at Anfield. The Brazilian midfielder was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing this summer and whilst everyone expected him to be one of their key men from the off, Klopp has held him back and it looks like that decision has paid off.

The ex-Monaco man made his full debut yesterday and despite the fact that he’s had little in the way of game time so far he massively impressed. Not only did Fabinho impress with his ability to win back the ball, but his eagerness to get the ball moving forward and finding the front three with his passing range also had plenty of the Reds waxing lyrical over their shiny new defensive midfielder.
Liverpool are blessed to have some incredible midfielders and the fact that Fabinho is now starting to get some more game time can only be a good thing for The Kopites. At the moment the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are all out injured and when the trio return it will only bolster Klopp’s side and give them a better chance in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
You can read The Reds’ verdict on Fabinho here:
Fabinho’s game by numbers vs. Red Star:
72 (90%) passes completed
9 (75%) tackles
6 (100%) aerial duels won
2 chances created

The Kopites loved Fabinho’s display last night and will be keen to see more from him in the coming weeks.
