It seems pretty clear that Gary Lineker is a huge fan on Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Match of the Day presenter and former Everton star has taken to Twitter to rave over Liverpool’s young starlet in the past, claiming he sees an England future in midfield for the young right-back, and on Sunday he again praised the 20-year-old for his Fulham display, although The Reds weren’t having it.
Thought he was much better today. Some really good bits of play. https://t.co/tNThCnbUxx

Whilst no one associated with Liverpool wants to see their young defender fail, at the moment they’re simply not happy with his form. The youngster hasn’t been the same player since the Champions League final back in May and he’s looked sloppy both in and out of possession as Liverpool have failed to hit the heights they achieved last season, and the supporters have been keen to let their young defender know what they think.
For the Manchester derby back in October Jurgen Klopp opted to drop TAA and instead fielded Joe Gomez at right-back as he drafted in Dejan Lovren alongside Virgil van Dijk. That particular defensive line, with the consistent Andy Robertson at left-back, could be the Reds best bet for the coming weeks as they hope to see a return to form for Alexander-Arnold. Either way, his current form is nothing more than a dip and when he’s back on it the Kopites will be loving the praise that Lineker lavishes on their academy man.
You can read The Kopites’ verdict on Alexander-Arnold here:
He was dreadful yesterday and unfortunately he’s been woeful for weeks.

He was the only bad player in the pitch vs fulham. We need a solid RB or bring back Clyne. Otherwise top teams will exploit that position and will score easily

I thought he was one of the worst players on the pitch today along with Fabinho & Salah

Too inconsistent and still prone to poor decision making . Good and ugly .can't hide behind is young… Passing good but crossing shocking – kick and hope most of time

Be honest he was shocking today

I thought he was poor today, he was involved in the salah goal but other than that very average, not sure what some people see, probably could do with a rest.

I thought he was awful today , he must of kicked it out of play about 10 times , didn’t take one good corner and kept giving the ball away. Just having a bad spell , he will be fine

The Reds will be desperate to have their right-back get back to form as soon as possible as they look to kick on and challenge Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
