Liverpool fans on Twitter slate Carragher for Hazard love in

Last night saw Liverpool hosting Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third round at Anfield. Jamie Carragher was on commentary and when Eden Hazard came on it seems the ex-Liverpool man couldn’t contain his excitement. Carra claimed Hazard is the best in the Premier League and was the best at the World Cup and plenty of the Reds couldn’t wrap their head’s around his Hazard love in.

No one is disputing that Eden Hazard is one of the best players in the world today. The 27-year-old Belgian is reaching his peak and his goal against Liverpool yesterday showed exactly what he’s capable of. However, for a Liverpool legend to be comparing him to the likes of Pele and Maradona after he scored a nice goal at Anfield was a step too far and the Kopites are rightly questioning their former defender for it.

Hazard has the capabilities to score a goal out of nothing on any occasion. There is no stage too big for his brilliance and he has shown on a number of occasions what he can do when on form. That, though, is exactly the problem as inconsistency plagues the Belgian’s game. There’s no telling what Hazard you’re going to get, so you’re left hoping the one who enters the fray is the one who can skin Alberto Moreno and score a blinder to win you a cup tie.

You can see what the eds’ made of Carra’s comments on Hazard here:

The Reds weren’t too pleased with Carragher’s apparent love for Hazard and it’ll be interesting to see if the 27-year-old delivers on Saturday at Anfield.
