In true Football Manager style, Jurgen Klopp organised an intra-squad friendly on Wednesday to try and improve his squad’s match fitness. The game was only an hour long but it gave game time to some of his fringe players, namely Simon Mignolet who had an absolute shocker against his teammates. Fans can watch all of the goals from the match on LFCTV Go.

The game finished 5-0 to those competing in the club’s home kit, with Mignolet picking the ball out of his net five times to round off an overall shocker from the Belgian. Xherdan Shaqiri was one of the four goalscorers, alongside Adam Lallana, who played a part in Shaqiri’s opener, as well as a Dominic Solanke double and a Daniel Sturridge penalty. However, the fans have been looking into Mignolet as opposed to those shooting at him.
A lot of supporters are questioning how the 30-year-old is still on the payroll at the club after his performances in the past. However, now that Alisson Becker is at the club it looks like Loris Karius will be the Reds number two and that leaves very little room for Mignolet as he’ll get very little game time if he’s limited to every other domestic cup game. It seems to be the right time for Mignolet to leave the club, and the fans will happily drive him to his new club if they have to.

Why is mignolet on his knees for that shot?

Plenty of Liverpool fans would love to see Mignolet sold in the closing weeks of the European window and would have no qualms with seeing him off today if they had to.
