Liverpool fans were all eager to see Harry Wilson shine again yesterday when they tuned in to watch Southampton host Derby County. As usual, the young Reds’ loanee shone as he scored his 8th goal of the season from outside the box, which means he’s scored twice as many long range efforts as anyone else in England’s top four leagues this season.

Wilson has scored screamer after screamer for Derby was at it again last night, although his time his effort was slightly more fortunate. As the Welshman lined up a free-kick from the corner of the box, he fired a cross-shot in low for the back post, and after if it initially looked like Martyn Waghorn got a boot to it, it went down as Wilson’s goal when it was confirmed the ball flew straight in.
That makes it two free-kick goals in two games away at Premier League sides in the cup competitions for Wilson, as he scored an absolute thunderbolt at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup. The Kopites all believe that they’ve seen enough now, and whilst they’ve enjoyed tuning in to see Wilson score bangers in the Championship, they want to see him do it live at Anfield and have been begging for him to be recalled from his loan spell.

The Reds would love to bring Wilson home this month, although it would be best for his development to let him see out his loan at Pride Park.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
