Liverpool fans on Twitter want to see Shaqiri get more game time

On Saturday, Xherdan Shaqiri was the architect of the only goal of the game as The Reds overcame The Terriers at The John Smith’s stadium. Mo Salah grabbed the headlines with the goal but it was Shaqiri who made the goal and he explained to the Liverpool website how it was a pre-game instruction from Jurgen Klopp that had him as the creator.

Xherdan Shaqiri was a shrewd signing from relegated Stoke City over the summer and he’s already showing his quality in a side that has a lot more players of his ilk around him. The versatile Swiss attacker can play on both wings and as a support striker, although Klopp has used a stroke of genius to utilise the electric impact man as a central midfielder, much like he did with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last season.

The fans, thoughm are desperate to see more from Shaqiri as the Swiss squad man has mostly been used off the bench and in the cups. At the moment, though, James Milner, Chamberlain and Naby Keita are all going through fitness issues and it could provide Shaqiri with more of an opportunity in the first team which he’ll be determined to take with both hands as he aims to become an indispensable first team player.

The Kopites are loving Shaqiri so far and will be keen to see more from him in the coming weeks.
