So often this season, Andy Robertson has been one of the most consistent players in Red. However, last night the Kopites weren’t happy with the Scotsman as he picked up a 92nd-minute booking that will see him miss the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final, despite being minutes away from having his European record wiped.

Of all the players on the pitch, the only one who had to avoid picking up a yellow card was Andy Robertson. The ex-Hull City left-back managed the game superbly for the most part too and survived the 90 without picking up a needless booking. However, as injury time kicked in, with just three minutes added, the defender stupidly brought down Leon Goretzka in the 92nd minute.
At the time, Robertson looked absolutely furious and it’s hard to tell whether his frustration was aimed at the referee or at himself, but either way, Jurgen Klopp will be planning for 90 minutes without his first-choice left-back. The quarter-final draw takes place tomorrow and the Reds will all be desperate to get an ‘easy’ draw, preferably with the Anfield leg first, as they aim to limit the potential damages and give themselves the best shot of making it to the Champions League’s last four.

With two minutes to go and the game in the bag .

Silly of Robertson there in injury time. No need

First time I’ve genuinely been upset with Robertson… Braindead booking leaves us with Moreno for the quarters.

Moment of rare stupidity from Robertson that. Unnecessary, but I’d back us against anyone now. Let’s have it.

Robertson deserves a night off, not like he’s injured..

The only disappointment of the night

He should learn a lesson in a hard way. Taking it too easy.

That was unnecessary from Robbo

The Reds hate the idea of going into a tough European quarter-final without their Scottish workhorse, and will now just be desperate for a favourable tie in tomorrow’s draw.
