Liverpool fans may not have endured the drama that Man City and Spurs fans did last night, but they played in a match of equal calibre when they travelled to Portugal. Jurgen Klopp made some changes to his side and he opted to start Roberto Firmino on the bench, meaning that Divock Origi got the nod from the first whistle.

The Reds… https://t.co/Y9dacX0S4K

Liverpool fans were delighted with their result last night and to see their side get into the Champions League last four, and for the most part, there was no real panic as they controlled the game, limited Porto to only a handful of chances and scored at the right moments to kill the game and the tie. However, there were nerves before kick-off and it wasn’t helped by the fact Origi was starting.
The Belgian may be a good enough player to cut it in the Premier League against some of the lower ranked opposition, but the Champions League is a different kettle of fish, and the fans didn’t need the stress of having their Teflon touch Belgian strutting about up front. In the end, it made little difference as he was hooked at the break for Firmino, who came on and scored, as the Reds recorded a 4-1 win on the night and a 6-1 aggregate victory in the tie.

The Reds weren’t all pleased to see Origi starting the game yesterday, although in the end it didn’t matter as they made it through to the next round, and could now see Origi feature against Barcelona.
