Many Liverpool fans have been talking about the latest news involving Leon Goretzka that recently emerged on social media.
The Athletic’s Liverpool-oriented journalist James Pearce recently relayed an article about Goretzka. The article, which was written by Raphael Honigstein, talked about the Bayern Munich midfielder’s life and career and it included some quotes from the German about Liverpool.
Should Liverpool regret missing out on Goretzka?
He revealed that Liverpool were interested in signing him when he was leaving Schalke on a free transfer. The German also shared that he and his compatriots were ‘proud’ to see Jurgen Klopp lift the Premier League. He hailed Liverpool to be a ‘great club’ and he believes that their development under Klopp has been ‘amazing’ (as per the Athletic).
Goretzka said that he ended up joining Bayern as he thought that the Bavarian club was the ‘right move’ for him. The midfielder joined Bayern on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 and since then, he has helped the club win two Bundesliga titles and one Champions League title.
Pearce’s tweet involving this article also carried Goretzka’s quotes about the Anfield-based side. The tweet caught the attention of many Liverpool fans, who began talking about the 25-year-old German.
What did Liverpool fans make of Pearce’s tweet about Goretzka?
