Liverpool: Fans react to training ground footage of Virgil van Dijk
Fans of Liverpool have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which featured footage of Virgil van Dijk doing his rehab work at the club’s new training centre
In the footage, Van Dijk, who has been sidelined since the Merseyside derby after a rash Jordan Pickford challenge ruptured the centre-back’s cruciate ligament, is seen participating in some gym work at the club’s Kirkby training complex.
While the £72 million-rated defender’s injury was a blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side, a situation that was made worse by Van Dijk’s fellow centre-back Joe Gomez also being ruled out for a considerable amount of time due to injury, Liverpool’s backline have performed admirably without the Dutch international.
In the six Premier League games without Van Dijk, the Reds have conceded just four goals, while, over the club’s five Champions League fixtures without the defender, they have conceded just twice.
However, despite this, the sight of the 29-year-old has nonetheless delighted a great number of Liverpool fans, many of whom took to Twitter to share their joy.
