Liverpool fans take to Twitter to call against Depay swoop as rumours circulate

The silly season is getting ever closer, and with it, the rumours are starting to gather. One rumour, that has been going on for a while, is that Sadio Mane could be leaving Anfield for the Bernabeu. According to L’equipe, via The Metro, the Reds could look to Memphis Depay as a Mane replacement should he leave, and the fans are having none of it.
There haven’t been many to play for both us and United but he could be exactly what we need https://t.co/osybQVfLV4

There are very few players who are brave enough to cross the divide and play for both Liverpool and Manchester United in their careers, although that could be exactly what Memphis Depay is set to do. The Dutchman left Old Trafford back in January 2017 to sign for Lyon and has seen his performances improve greatly for that move, however, questions marks remain over whether he should return to England.
The Premier League was an obvious big step too soon for Depay, and United fans were thoroughly disappointed by the Dutchman with the way he flopped after his move from PSV. In the Eredivisie, he was looked at as one of the next great talents, and so far he hasn’t hit the lofty heights that were expected of him. Under Jurgen Klopp that could all change, but the chances of the Kopites allowing Mane to leave and replacing him with a Manchester United reject seem very slim.

You are joking right?

He's been booed by his own fans yesterday. And being benched for a lack of passion and desire. He 's not exactly what we need.

Would be Ryan Babel all over again. Talented player, but not worth the headache. Lyon honestly can't wait to be rid of him.

Not sure about he’s attitude but don’t agree him being a Mane replacement If anything he would add to squad not replace

No thanks. Many better options out there, and St the club even.

The Reds have all been pretty clear on where they stand on this one, as they’re desperate to keep Mane and avoid Memphis Depay, making this one an easy one to turn down.
