Liverpool fans take to Twitter to marvel at Alexander-Arnold brilliance

Liverpool fans went into their midweek clash against Watford last night with something of a point to prove. The Reds had won just one of their last five in all competitions, and whilst they hadn’t lost a game in that time. Luckily, yesterday they had Trent Alexander-Arnold to step up with three assists in an emphatic win.

It would be more than easy enough to get carried away with the braces that both Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk scored in the 5-0 win, or even the goal from Divock Origi, who has been left looking into the squad from the periphery this season. However, the form of Jurgen Klopp’s full-backs was incredible, with Andy Robertson grabbing two assists as Alexander-Arnold set up the other three goals.

Those three assists for the Reds 20-year-old full-back saw him double his tally for the season when it comes to laying on goals for teammates. In his 18 appearances prior to last night, he’d set up three goals, yet in just 70 minutes last night, he found himself with a rare hat-trick of assists, and the fan’s vote for the man of the match award too.

You can read the Reds’ verdict on who their man of the match was here:

The Reds simply couldn’t get enough of their young creative full-back yesterday and will hope that he can keep up his creative streak and continue to grab assists until the season’s up.
