Liverpool fans take to Twitter to slam Emre Can

Liverpool fans have got it good at the moment as they battle it out with Manchester City in search of their first Premier League title. They’ve had to do it without Emre Can, who left for Juventus, and last night saw the German celebrating the Serie A title. His celebratory tweet ruffled some feathers on Merseyside, though, and the Reds have bitten.
What do you make of this? I’m 50/50 on if he meant it that way https://t.co/dnDPOMPuyv

The tweet in question can be found on Emre Can’s official Twitter account and the phrasing that the German has used has made a fair few Reds’ blood boil. The ex-Liverpool man tweeted that he ‘came to this amazing club to embark on a new journey and to win trophies’ and a lot of Kopites have taken that as a dig at them, especially seeing as they’re yet to win a trophy since the 2011/12 League Cup.
Whilst Can may not have meant the tweet to be a dig at his former club, he can hardly take the plaudits for Juventus’ Serie A title win and that’s a fact that the Reds are hammering home. The German has been a bit-part player in the Italian’s title charge, starting just 16 times in Serie A for his new club, and whilst he may have an Italian league winners medal to show for it, the Kopites don’t care and have been happily giving their former midfielder pelters on Twitter.

Jesus Everton would clear up in Seria A

Irrelevant. We’ve moved on he’s moved on. Really couldn’t care less what he meant to say or not.

He's not a Liverpool player anymore; his opinion means less than nothing to me.

Who’s arsed, he’s not missed, not even spoken about. I’m 47 and could win the Serie A, the League is over by match 22. The Old Lady is a great club, but they’re head shoulders above everyone, think SPL with better weather.

Not missed in the slightest. Such an irrelevant midfielder

He'll continue to he a bit part player in his career but claim greatness coz he won a title on a technicality. What would have Juve done without his contribution? He never did have the right work ethic for us so not missed at all.

He may as well have gone to Celtic if that’s his attitude.

The Reds aren’t missing Can at all and will be quick to dismiss his inflammatory tweet.
