Liverpool fans have got it good at the moment as they battle it out with Manchester City in search of their first Premier League title. They've had to do it without Emre Can, who left for Juventus, and last night saw the German celebrating the Serie A title. His celebratory tweet ruffled some feathers on Merseyside, though, and the Reds have bitten.

The tweet in question can be found on Emre Can's official Twitter account and the phrasing that the German has used has made a fair few Reds' blood boil. The ex-Liverpool man tweeted that he 'came to this amazing club to embark on a new journey and to win trophies' and a lot of Kopites have taken that as a dig at them, especially seeing as they're yet to win a trophy since the 2011/12 League Cup.

Whilst Can may not have meant the tweet to be a dig at his former club, he can hardly take the plaudits for Juventus' Serie A title win and that's a fact that the Reds are hammering home. The German has been a bit-part player in the Italian's title charge, starting just 16 times in Serie A for his new club, and whilst he may have an Italian league winners medal to show for it, the Kopites don't care and have been happily giving their former midfielder pelters on Twitter.

The Reds aren't missing Can at all and will be quick to dismiss his inflammatory tweet.
