Liverpool fans take to Twitter to slam sorry Henderson after Everton stalemate

You can forgive Liverpool fans for being miserable this morning. Their draw with Everton yesterday was their fourth stalemate in their last six Premier League matches as they’ve let a ten point gap and they now find themselves 2nd. In the aftermath of the Everton tie, Jordan Henderson urged the fans to stay positive and got lambasted for it on Twitter.

Even when Liverpool are playing their most entertaining, scintillating football their club captain gets a lot of flack, so for the 28-year-old to come out yesterday with messages to stay positive and stay confident on the Liverpool website was a brave move, as the Reds had a field day slating their captain. The abuse won’t faze Hendo, but it also won’t be stopping anytime soon either from the fans.

The supporters have been voicing their opinions for a long time that they don’t see Henderson as a worthy captain. The Anfield faithful would give Virgil van Dijk the captain’s armband in a heartbeat and cannot understand why Jurgen Klopp continues with Henderson as a captain or as a starter. He’s yet to score a single goal or register a single assists in all competitions this season, and with every appearance he makes they find themselves questioning what he brings to the side.

You can read the Kopites’ thoughts on Hendo here:

The Kopites cannot understand how Henderson is still a starter and their captain and would love to see him dropped in both of those roles.
