To claim that Steven Gerrard can’t run a game is a ludicrous statement. However, to claim it whilst sat next to an ex-Liverpool man who played with Gerrard at Anfield is even more stupid and it was clear from Jason McAteer’s reaction that he also though Richard Keyes was brainless to suggest it. Plenty of Liverpool fans have been tearing into Keyes, and you can see his comments here.
There’s Grade A nonsense, and then there’s Richard Keyes on Steven Gerrard https://t.co/jPUvnkQ3dB

Richard Keyes, formerly of Sky Sports, is quite frankly an idiot. The man is constantly coming out with strange comments and ridiculous ideas in an attempt to keep himself relevant whilst he rots away on BeIn Sport. However, this comment has managed to rile up a few Liverpool fans. Not only did the 61-year-old only slate Gerrard but he’s also questioned whether or not Roy Keane was a great player.
It seems ludicrous that Keyes is even allowed to voice his opinions given how poor and ill-informed they are, but at least it gives the Reds someone to vent at when he comes out with these ridiculous comments. Steven Gerrard is one of the best players to grace the Premier League and his record speaks for itself. The current Rangers boss made over 500 appearances in the Premier League and scored 120 goals in it for Liverpool, making Richard Keyes’ comments seem even more ludicrous.
You can read The Reds’ verdict on Keyes’ comments here:
Like everyone he’s entitled to his opinion. But he gives that so often in predictions that turn out to be utter rubbish that suggests his opinions aren’t to be given to much value.

What an idiot. Gerrard couldn't run a football match? 3 brilliant players and im biased but could Keane or Scholes carry an average Man u team like Stevie did at Liverpool for so long, i dont think so

This just proves Keys hasn’t a clue about football & needs to stick with GMTV

I actually watched this live and couldn't believe what I was listening too, I'm surprised mcca didn't walk out, how these two Muppets are allowed still to broadcast beggars belief.

Mr Richard Keys is now a spent force in the pundit arena so I guess he has to make outrageous comments to at least the to keep himself in the limelight.

The Reds can’t believe Keyes is still allowed to share his rubbish opinions on television but for now, they’re happy to slate him on Twitter for them.
