It says a lot when you've got a player who's in his debut season for a club the size of Liverpool who has been able to fill in where he's needed away from his comfort zone. That is exactly what Fabinho has done for Liverpool, though, as the Brazilian stepped in to play centre-back for the Kopites yesterday away at Brighton.

When Jurgen Klopp's side went to the Amex Stadium, it was a game that was looked at as a potential banana skin for the league leaders. Klopp had just one fit central defender available to him, even if it was the December player of the month and 2018 team of the year member, Virgil van Dijk. With the ever-impressive Dutchman and Fabinho at the back, though, the Reds were always going to win.

Brighton certainly had their chances in the game, but Liverpool are too good of a side and managed to get the three points when Mo Salah went down in the box, won a penalty and then stepped up to convert it himself. Yesterday was Liverpool's 4th 1-0 of the season so far, and considering that last season saw them win 1-0 just once, it looks like the Reds have come of age and are capable of winning ugly, of course it always helps that they've got the brilliant Fabinho.

The Reds are delighted that Fabinho has it in his locker to fill in at centre-back, and will hope the Brazilian can carry on shining for them in every position he's used.
