The Liverpool fans have been in fine spirits in the Transfer Tavern of late due to their side’s excellent run of results in recent weeks.
Barring a minor blip against Swansea in January, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been playing some brilliant football of late which has enabled them to record plenty of positive results in both the Premier League and the Champions League. The Reds have won 6 of their last 8 fixtures in the League to move within just 2 points of 2nd place Manchester United, and they have all but secured their place in the quarter final of the Champions League after recording a 5-0 win over FC Porto at Estadio Do Dragao last week.
The mood around the club is certainly one of positivity and optimism at this moment in time, but that has not deterred the supporters from looking forward to the summer transfer window and identifying potential targets to pursue.
One of the main reasons for the forward-thinking attitude relates to the future of Emre Can, as the German international is set to become a free agent when his contract expires in June.
With Can’s future hanging in the balance, the fans are looking at players who could potentially step in to replace him should be depart Anfield for a fresh challenge at the end of the season.
Wanyama has found himself on the fringes of the first-team in North-London since he returned from injury, but despite this, the supporters have turned out in their numbers on Twitter to express an interest in the highly-rated defensive midfielder.
Here’s what The Reds faithful on Twitter have had to say about the rumours concerning Wanyama’s potential move to Merseyside…
Former Southampton player, so interest is probably genuine
