Liverpool fight Barcelona for Klopp’s favourite players

GundoganLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are bracing themselves for an exciting January transfer window amid reports that the Reds will go head-to-head with Barcelona for some top targets.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo suggest Barcelona are concerned the Reds will beat them to Borussia Dortmund duo Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan, with Klopp said to be seriously considered a raid on his former employers.

Barcelona scouts have been scouring German talent for a while but their ambitions were put on-hold due to a transfer ban, which expires at the beginning of 2016.

A poor start to the La Liga campaign, and a injury to Lionel Messi, has left last season’s treble winners ready to splash the cash in the market- and they will look to beat Liverpool to both Reus and Gundogan.

Klopp’s appointment at Anfield has led to a number of Dortmund stars being linked with a switch to Liverpool and the lad at the jukebox reckons the German will raid his former employers in a similar swoop to the Reds ambush on Southampton in 2014.
