The West Brom fans enjoying a pint over by the bar might have found themselves choking on their drink after one supporter mentioned a report in Italy which links their club with a move for Mario Balotelli.
The article, published by Calciomercato, suggests that the 25-year old could be set to make a loan move to the Hawthorns.
Balotelli is currently on loan at Serie A outfit AC Milan from Liverpool, where he managed just 28 appearances with a mere total of 4 goals.
However, his hopes that a return to his native Italy would revitalise his career have not come to fruition and he has only featured in six games, netting once, after an injury spell.
Reports in Italian media claim that Milan are ready to cancel the loan deal for the Italian international, whilst the player’s agent is said to be actively looking for his client to move back to England this month.
But our landlord believes that a return to England will not signal a return to Anfield, with the Baggies reportedly leapfrogging West Ham into pole position for the Italian international.
The nature of any potential deal is unknown, and it remains to be seen whether any deal would be permanent or on a loan, whilst is remains unclear if Liverpool would willingly sell a player to an English rival.
