It’s been a tough season for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, with some Reds supporters thinking not enough progress has been made at Anfield this time out.
Liverpool just about managed to secure fourth place in the Premier League which means Champions League football is definitely coming back to Anfield next season.
But you get the impression that supporters want more than just Champions League football and the pressure is on Klopp to build a side that can challenge for trophies next time out.
And one man that thinks he’s had a good campaign in parts is former Sunderland man Simon Mignolet. The Belgian might not be everyone’s cup of tea but one performance certainly stands out amongst the rest and that’s the stunning display he turned in against Stoke City back in April.
Mignolet believes this was the match that gave him a platform to really build on as the season progressed.
“There was a reason why Stoke was so important to me,” Mignolet told LFC.com.
“As a goalkeeper, you don’t stand out much. It’s not the same as being a striker when you can score a goal and everyone notices what you have done.
“I had that moment in the first game of my Liverpool career when I made the penalty save against Stoke,” he added.
Liverpool fans- what do you make of Mignolet? Is he good enough to take the team forward next season? Leave your thoughts down below!
