Our Liverpool and Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their clash this weekend as both look for a first win of the campaign.
The men from Anfield – where the game will be played this weekend – drew away at Watford last weekend in a match they really should have won.
Frank de Boer, meanwhile, was introduced to the sheer competitiveness of the Premier League as new-boys Huddersfield beat Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park in what was a surprising result.
For sure, then, there is plenty riding on this game this weekend and Palace have been dealt an early blow in what will also be seen as a big boost for Liverpool.
Indeed, that’s because Palace’s best player, Wilfried Zaha, is out of the game and will not feature thanks to an injury he picked up last weekend – as per The Croydon Advertiser.
For sure, Zaha would have played if fit and would have likely caused Liverpool problems so they’ll be happy he’s out in the nicest possible way whilst the Eagles will need to sort a back-up plan.
Zaha was obviously going to be a key part of the game plan for Palace this weekend as they looked to break from the back quickly and counter the Reds.
They’re going to have to find someone else to do that now, though, and so it remains to be seen just how they manage without the mercurial Ivorian.
