Liverpool handed boost as giants identify replacement for goalkeeping target

Marc-Andre Ter SteganLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to believe that a sensational signing could be made this summer and they’ve ordered in a new round to celebrate as a result.

Marca state that Barcelona have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno as a replacement for German international Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who is seeking a move away from Catalonia this summer.

Ter Stegen is unhappy with his playing opportunities with the Spanish giants as he is considered the cup goalkeeper behind Chilean ace Claudio Bravo, which has put Barcelona on the market for a possible replacement.

Leno has excelled with Leverkusen in the Bundesliga but could seek a bigger challenge next term, as his current side cannot compete with the bigger clubs in Germany and Europe, whilst there have been suggestions of a fall-out with his current boss.

Should a move for Leno materialise, Barcelona will accept the departure of Ter Stegen and Liverpool would be likely to make a swoop, having identified the German as the ideal first-choice goalkeeper next season.

Liverpool fans, should you go all-out to make Ter Stegen your number one this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
