Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are raising their glasses in celebration after the latest reports they’ve heard from the continent, which increase their chances of completing a quality signing.
German outlet Suddeutsche Zeitung state incoming Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has informed World Cup winning midfielder Mario Gotze that he may not be needed at the Bavarian giants next season.
Ancelotti is set to take charge when Pep Guardiola leaves for Manchester City and the continued speculation regarding Gotze’s future was set to come down to the Italian, who would make a final decision on whether to sell the World Cup hero.
It seems that Gotze, who’s struggled to replicate his fine form with the serial Bundesliga champions after joining from arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund, has no future at the club and that increases Liverpool’s chances of securing his signature.
However, a reunion with Jurgen Klopp could prove difficult to achieve as Gazzetta Dello Sport state Italian champions Juventus are keen on signing the German midfielder and they can offer Champions League football.
Will Liverpool sign Gotze this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
