Every Saturday in the Football Transfer Tavern is exciting and today is no different with the end of the Championship season and one of the last set of Premier League games.
One side that were busy celebrating promotion to the Premier League last year, like Watford or Hull City seek to today, were Southampton and after securing safety with new boss Mauricio Pochettino thoughts are turning to next season.
Simon Jones from Mail Online has arrived in the tavern to explain that the Saints are the latest club to be interested in signing Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama in the summer.
The impressive 21-year-old is a wanted man with various Premier League clubs keeping track of his situation with his contract set to expire next summer and it believed that he could be available for around £10 million.
Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool are understood to have put placed Wanyama near the top of their summer transfer wishlist and scouts from Anfield have already been to watch the dynamic middle-man who performed so well for the SPL side in the Champions League this term.
However they now face fierce competition from the St. Mary’s side who also watched Wanyama during last week’s match against Motherwell.
Can Liverpool beat Saints to the signature of Wanyama? Rate this rumour below.
