Liverpool's season simply could not be going any better at the moment, as the Reds sit atop the Premier League after seven consecutive wins.

There is a real sense of hope building around Anfield at the moment, as the Reds fans seem to be finally convinced their side can go all the way and capture that elusive first Premier League title, in what would be a major achievement for the club and manager Jurgen Klopp.

While consistently winning is hard to maintain, Liverpool look relentless at the moment, and the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane continue to scare the life out of most teams they come up against.

However, in order to keep moving forward and improving, it's important for the Reds to continue to add the best players they can, and we at the Tavern think the club should be looking to sign French World Cup winning defender Benjamin Pavard.

Valued at a hefty £36m, the versatile defender made a major impact in Russia in the summer, including scoring a spectacular goal against Argentina which won him the goal of the tournament award.

There is more to Pavard though than just one spectacular striker, and the 22-year-old has all the potential in the world to go on and develop further.

Pavard would provide Liverpool with options across the entire back four if he can be signed, and crucially, he has the taste for winning trophies, something which could prove a valuable asset as the season draws on.

Liverpool fans, what do you think? Would Pavard be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
